CIVIL CAD DESIGNER

 About Us:

Established in December 2012 in San Antonio, Texas, T-Core Engineers (T-Core) performs management, design, and construction oversight of infrastructure-related projects with an emphasis in the management, roadway, and drainage areas of expertise.

T-Core is looking for a highly motivated Civil CAD Designer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of engineering principles and practices, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and ambitious individual to join an up-and-coming, innovative organization.

Summary:

This position requires a highly motivated, detailed-oriented individual that has strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills applicable with private and municipal land development, road, and utility design.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Produce finished development plans, concepts and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D per direction and supervision of Engineer and/or Project Manager.
  • Ability to follow hand-drafted and/or .PDF redlines and address all comments provided accordingly.
  • Set up and detail plans by analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings; assist in the set up and drafting of project base maps by analyzing utility drawings and sketches, notes and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.
  • Produce Civil 3D generated surfaces, profiles and section drawings per parameters and/or redline markups provided from Engineer and/or Project Manager.
  • Prepare earthwork models and “heat maps” for volume balancing and identifying areas of cut or fill.
  • Conform to industry standard CAD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
  • Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets.
  • Prepare conceptual layout plans per client request and information. Investigation of municipal ordinance regulations, as well as other state and local agency regulations, as required.
  • Prepare exhibits utilizing AutoCAD as well as image and data files from third-party, approved sites.


Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD C3D. Bentley OpenRoads Designer (MicroStation/GEOPAK), and ArcGIS experience a plus.
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering specifications and applying design criteria.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate materials, information and resources associated with engineering projects.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Must have effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing including proficient listening skills, rules of grammar, practices of document preparation, and conveying technical information in a tactful, concise, and easily understood manner.


Experience/Qualifications Include:

  • Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge and acumen (i.e., Microsoft Office).
  • 3-5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in site/civil, land development, and/or municipal engineering drafting preferred.
