PROJECT ENGINEER


 About Us:

Established in December 2012 in San Antonio, Texas, T-Core Engineers (T-Core) performs management, design, and construction oversight of infrastructure-related projects with an emphasis in the management, roadway, and drainage areas of expertise.

T-Core is looking for a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment. Summary:

This position is responsible for providing professional civil engineering services to T-Core clients.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop engineering designs including plan, profile, cross section, paving, grading and utility details.
  • Generate engineering plans using AutoCAD C3D.
  • Perform construction quantity estimates.
  • Cross-train in all civil engineering disciplines including pavement, grading, drainage, water, signing and pavement marking, storm water pollution prevention and traffic control.
  • Coordinate plans, calculations and specifications amongst multi-discipline engineering team and subconsultants.
  • Ensure designs, plans and calculations are complete and accurate.


Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering related to the design, construction, and maintenance of public works projects.
  • Knowledge of the methods, equipment, and materials used in surface and underground construction and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of floodplain regulations as it relates to development of property.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD C3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer (MicroStation/GEOPAK), and ArcGIS.
  • Skill in use of roadway, water, sewer, and drainage criteria.
  • Skill in interpreting engineering specifications.
  • Ability to apply local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to engineering design and construction administration.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate materials, information and resources associated with engineering projects.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Must have effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have polished and proven people skills with a focus of being able to interact well with a diverse population and provide excellent customer service.
  • Skill in public speaking and ability to make effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing including proficient listening skills, rules of grammar, practices of document preparation, and conveying technical information in a tactful, concise, and easily understood manner.


Experience/Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (or Master’s Degree) in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience in public works projects
  • Experience in Flood Plain Management; Certified Floodplain Manager preferred
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Plan, execute and manage the design of public works construction projects
  • Knowledge and experience in reviewing construction plans
  • Knowledge of TxDOT, federal and local regulations
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills in dealing with clients
