PROJECT MANAGER


 About Us:

Established in December 2012 in San Antonio, Texas, T-Core Engineers (T-Core) performs management, design, and construction oversight of infrastructure-related projects with an emphasis in the management, roadway, and drainage areas of expertise.

T-Core is looking for a highly motivated Project Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects of varying size and scope, expand current client engagements, and encourage the expansion of service offerings by T-Core. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment. Summary:

This position is responsible for managing multi-disciplined projects to provide excellent, innovative products for our clients.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Consult with client to determine project scope, requirements and timeline.
  • Generate work plans, fee proposals and project schedules in response to client’s request.
  • Develop and execute contracts between T-Core, its outside consultants and the client for services requested.
  • Establish both quantitative and qualitative goals and objectives for each project.
  • Finalize, communicate and monitor project scope, schedules, work plans and budgets to the team as detailed in the agreement.
  • Lead and coordinate the project team’s work effort and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Provide direction, technical advice and guidance for the development of the project including the construction documents, coordination with consultants and the timely delivery of services.
  • Review the documents for appropriateness, accuracy and adherence to client expectations, industry standards, building codes, and ADA recommendations.
  • Routinely monitor project financial reporting data including AR reporting.
  • Enhance the work and careers of T-Core teammates through continuous training, support and mentoring. Participate in professional development reviews and encourage lessons learned discussions.
  • Effectively manage team members to maintain positive interactions, while ensuring the highest product quality and meeting client expectations within the approved fee, project budget and project schedule.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with teammates, internal and external consultants, contractors and approval agencies.
  • Develop, maintain and grow relationships with existing clients and pro-actively identify new and/or additional opportunities as they arise.


Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering related to the design, construction, and maintenance of public works projects.
  • Knowledge of floodplain regulations.
  • Experience in AutoCAD C3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer (MicroStation/GEOPAK), and ArcGIS.
  • Skilled in use of roadway, water, sewer, and drainage criteria.
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering specifications.
  • Ability to apply local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to engineering design and construction administration.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate materials, information and resources associated with engineering projects.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Must have effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have polished and proven people skills and provide excellent customer service.
  • Skilled in public speaking and ability to make effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing including proficient listening skills, rules of grammar, practices of document preparation, and conveying technical information in a tactful, concise, and easily understood manner.


Experience/Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (or Master’s Degree) in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience with 2 years prior experience as a project manager
  • Experience in Flood Plain Management; Certified Floodplain Manager preferred
  • Experience with financial projects, and/or highly detailed project types highly preferred
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Knowledge and experience in reviewing construction plans
  • Knowledge of TxDOT, federal and local regulations
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills in dealing with clients
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
